Why doesn't the status bar tell whether the file is set to READ ONLY. It drives me crazy having to click on the EDIT menu and then click again to hide the EDIT menu in order to find out whether a file is set to READ ONLY.

I use read-only toggle button on toolbar. It`s detect if file is read-only. Custumize toolbar - add this toggle button.

Why doesn't the status bar and document bar tell whether the file is set to READ ONLY or MODIFY.

You can see if the document is modified on title bar ('*' after file name).
