Is there anyplace that tells me what the possible grep arguments for GTE are? I see the -in. What does it mean? What are the other arguments I might use? I saw the wildcard info in help.

I want to be able to use grep to search for an expression in files within 1 directory, or in multiple directories.

GWD Text Editor Grep command syntax:

[-lcnvehy] search_string files...

Options are one or more option characters preceeded by "-":

l Diaplay file names only
c Display match count only
n Display line numbers
v Display non-matching lines only
i Ignore case
e Simple expression
h No filename headers with output lines
y Upercase before matching


A search_string is one or more occurrences of:

One or more characters optionally enclosed in quotes. The following symbols are treated specially:

^ start of line
$ end of line
. any character
* match zero or more
+ match one or more

Files is one or more files (you can use wildcards) which will be searched.
