Find/Replace not picking up all the selection

I noticed something when running the find/replace commands. If you have text highlighted, only the last whole word is brought over to the find/replace dialog boxes. Seems that GWD considers any punctuation marks to be seperators. Is there a way to make it pickup the whole line (example: I am trying to replace an entire path that has a file name so we have periods, slashes, etc.(.
