GWD Text Editor Forum: Technical Support: Sarch wrap around to the beginning of the file and popup window disable.

Can I make gwd search wrap around to the beginning of the file? Also, can I disable the popup window announcing "Search string not found" and just beep or something?

Only by replacing internal Find command with plug-in ones (quite easy). If you don't know how to write a plug-in and you cannot live withou it, remind me for week or two and I will develop it

I would appreciate if you could develop one. I would like the source so I could do plug-ins for myself as well. Thanks

To install this plug-in choose Add/Remove Plug-Ins command from the Plug-Ins menu. In the Add Remove Plug-Ins dialog box, click on the Download button and in the Download Plug-Ins dialog box select 'Find No Continue Msg Box' and click download. You can download this plug-in source code from http://www.gwdsoft.com/downloads/src

This didn't work for me, I still get the annoying pop-up messages. Also, since v3.2, the find does not always work from the current cursor position. I want a find that works from the current cursor position, always wraps to the top of the file and continues the find. Popping a window for "not found" is only acceptable when the text does not appear anywhere in the file. Even then, I prefer a beep and/or visual cue. Thanks.

You can download version 3.2.0.3 http://www.gwdsoft.com/downloads/gtedit32.zip and add the FindContinueMsgBox=0 line in the [Editor] section of the gte.ini file (gte.ini file is located in the C:\Windows or C:\WinNT directory).

Vedran, This is close to what I want. I followed your instructions and I no longer get the "Find Continue" Dialog. However, the find is not wrapping to the top of the document, it sez "Search string not found" when you hit the bottom, even though it does exist ABOVE the cursor. Is there an INI tweak to set the find function to always continue searching from the top of the document? Thanks
