After trying to replace one ThinkPad with another and then use the editor on my new ThinkPad , I find it will not work well here. I have even tried to uninstall and reinstall.
The problem seems to be that when I start GTE in the mode which should allow me to adjust the screen size , it appears to startup way off the viewable screen . If I change to FULL screen mode it seems to work ok . then when I click on the upper right the two small blocks it again appears to go somewhere off the left side of the screen .

go to Windir (C:\Winnt on my machine) and remove
[Settings]-Window or change the numbers to something smaller that will fit your new screen.
I'll bet you've got some big numbers in there.
