When a change is made in the text editor and the file hasn’t been saved yet, an asterisk is placed after the filename in the title bar. This feature is very useful. What I would suggest is that you extend this feature so that file modification be indicated in the filename shown in the buttons used to select the file being edited. This way you can easily see which files you haven’t save yet when modifying a multi file design.
